Hunter is an almost 3 year old male Boxer cross Staffordshire Bull Terrier (he’s the litter brother of Charlie who we rehomed a few months ago). He’s living in a busy household with four children and he’s not really had the training input a young dog needs. As a result of which he isn’t responding well when the male owner tells him to do things – he will growl in response.
He’s never attempted to snap at anyone and generally Hunter loves people – he’s great with new people, the vet, the kennels he stays in etc. He needs a home with experience of Bull breeds and with the time and commitment to put into his training. He’s undersocialised with other dogs and will bark when he sees them but at the kennels he’s interacted positively with them we are told.
Probably better as an only dog for now but with time and socialising we believe he would be dog friendly. He’s a no to cats. Although he lives with four young children we think a quieter home with older dog savvy children is more suited to him. He is strong on his lead but again this can be attributed to the fact he’s rarely being walked. He’s fine to be left for reasonable periods although he’s partial to chewing cookery books if they’re left with his reach! He’s neutered, chipped and vaccinated.
