Bentley is a 2-year-old medium sized male Cross-Breed dog who was rescued from Crete in November 2017. He has an enormous amount of love to give and is a bouncy, young, intelligent dog with plenty of energy who adores people (especially men!), loving nothing more than a soppy cuddle on the sofa. He loves going in the car as this means ADVENTURE and has traveled all over the UK with his foster family. Everyone who meets him falls in love with him and he is often described as ‘the best dog ever’.

He loves to play with toys but is not allowed tennis balls as he is obsessive about destroying them, whether they belong to him or not. He is fully house-trained, knows ’sit’, ‘paw’, ‘wait’, ’stay’ and off-lead recall is (mostly) good. He can become strong and excitable when he sees people he knows as he likes to say hello, although he is learning appropriate behaviour very quickly. He loves to play off the lead with other dogs and likes nothing more than a game of chase. In the house, he enjoys playing hide and seek games with favourite toys or treats, using the games to engage his nose very effectively!

As Bentley is a young dog who is full of energy, his ideal home will be as part of an active family, outside the city with plenty of room to run around. He has been wild-camping and hillwalking regularly with his foster parents, all off-lead and very well behaved. He has also met horses (off lead) and sheep (on lead) and keeps a respectful distance. Rehoming to a family with young children would be considered on a case by case basis as, whilst he adores children, he is a little clumsy. He has spent time in a house with two cats and with correct introductions, this could be considered . His ideal home will be happy to continue his training in correct lead walking and recall. He is a very quick learner but does have a mind of his own! Bentley can be left a maximum of 4 hours a day, although ideally will have someone around most of the time.

Bentley takes tablets daily for a parasite in his blood. This will continue for the rest of his life, funded by the rescue and does not affect his daily life as long as medication is maintained. He will require blood tests to monitor kidney and liver function every 6 months. His foster parent will give full details to any prospective adopter and his current vets will pass on his medical history to any new vets. He is currently fostered in Glasgow.

If you would like to apply for Bentley please complete an application at the rescue. Homecheck and adoption donation (£240) applies. Please note that any adoptive family must agree to keep SRS updated about his ongoing health status.
