Bolt is a 2-year old Boxer cross who is being fostered in Crewe, Cheshire. He snores loudly and loves a good nap. He is a total cuddle monster that waits birds in the fields with never any hope of catching them, and has even been known to chase butterflies jumping in the air as he goes. Bolt gets really excited when his jumper or coat comes out and looks very proud when he’s out wearing them – he is currently underweight still so will need these when it is really cold until he has enough fat to cover his body. Bolt is so loving and really will make someone the most wonderful companion, he is a dream foster dog and a dog you just love the instant he rests his head on you.
Bolt has had a horrific experience which has made him nervous of people initially but once given a treat or spoken to quietly he loves everyone he meets. He is such a human dog that loves to be close to the people he trusts. Bolt is sociable with children. Bolt is very sociable with all dogs and all sizes. He is very playful if a dog wants to run, or calm with older ones. Bolt lives with a cat currently but gets very excited when he sees a cat outside and will chase the resident cat if unsupervised so a home without cats would be best. Bolt lives with two parrots and completely ignores them so small animals should be fine.
Bolt is fine to be left for a few hours with no issue. Bolt is crate trained but is a big dog so prefers to stretch out on a sofa when left but will stay in his crate with no issue for short periods. Bolt will destroy tennis balls and toys when out on a walk but is not destructive in house at all. Bolt is not dominant over food although he is still underweight so will need watching with other dogs as he will steal their food if given opportunity. Bolt walks perfectly on a harness and lead. He can be a little boisterous when off lead and excited so needs training in recall and gentle play. This is being managed currently and with a ball in his mouth he is less mouthy when running.
Bolt has had such a bad experience that he deserves a loving home that will be patient and understand that some things might worry him initially but once he trusts again he is a loving typical bouncy boxer x. Bolt is such an affectionate dog and would love someone home the majority of the day but would also adapt to someone working a few hours a day. Bolt is such a soulful dog that has suffered terribly but yet he is so willing to trust again so a forever home that will show him humans aren’t all bad and he never has to worry about being abandoned again.
Bolt is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with his flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet him in his foster home in Crewe, Cheshire.
